Brandy Melville

This past weekend I went shopping with some friends at the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica.  We spent most our time at Brandy Melville, a super cute store that is ridiculously affordable.  I cannot believe that I had not discovered this store months ago when it first opened!  I bought four adorable tops for $95.  All ranging in price from $20-$35.  The only down side was that the store filled with customers, so the staff was not able to keep up with refolding the merchandise and, as a result, displays were messy.  However, I'm not complaining!  There was no way the staff could keep up with the flow of customers looking to find the latest styles at great prices.  There are multiple locations and everyone should definitely stop by.  I am already planing my next visit!

The September Issue

I know I'm about two years late, but I recently watched The September Issue. I am so glad I did because it was a fabulous documentary.
For those of you who don't know, The September Issue focuses on Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of American Vogue. The audience has a window into the trials and tribulations of putting together the most important issue of the year, the September issue! As Grace Coddington says in the film, the September issue is Vogue's January. It marks the start of the new fashion season.
It is extremely eye opening to realize the time and energy put into each issue. Watching the movie made me want to work in fashion even more. The fashion world is fast-paced, ever changing, and so dynamic. The September Issue was an inspiring peek into the world of fashion media.

Madewell

Even though it is 100 degrees here in Los Angeles, I cannot help myself from looking at the fall collections. Madewell is perfect. Seriously though, I want the whole lookbook. I'm really loving blazers and coats over sweet dresses, shorts, and blouses. I think it is the perfect transition from summer to fall. These are some of my favorite!

Shopping in NYC

Hi lovelies! I have been traveling on the east coast for the past week and am now at a summer program at Yale University. While on my trip, I stopped in NYC and did some shopping. I also saw Catch Me if You Can, which is a fabulous Broadway musical. The lead, Aaron Tveit, is incredibly gorgeous and has an amazing voice, and the other lead, Norbert Leo Butz, won the Tony award for best male actor in a musical.

Another highlight of my New York day was shopping at TopShop. I really wish LA had one because let me tell you how cute the clothes are...VERY! While I was shopping, an employee randomly came up and took my clothes to the personal shopping area of the store. I was provided a huge room to try on clothes, given water in special “Personal Shopping” bottles, offered cupcakes and candy, and didn’t have to wait to pay for my purchases! The personal shopper took the credit card while I sat an enjoyed my treats! Additionally, students get 10% off, which is crazy wonderful! All of this special treatment was free, so next time you’re in New York you should call ahead to Topshop and make a personal shopping appointment!

Rompers

I'm in the center in the grey/white/orange romper.
After almost two weeks of no school, it is finally feeling like summer. My go to clothing items are rompers. I love rompers because they are a complete outfit; all you need to do is add shoes and accessories and then you are done!
My birthday was on Monday and I wore this romper (pictured above). I love the print and bright colors! My girlfriends surprised me with a dinner party and it was so sweet. Everyone looked adorable; I love you all!

Summer Essentials

It is finally summer! Yay!!! June gloom is starting to disappear from Los Angeles and we have been receiving some spectacular sun. Summer allows for multitudes of amazing clothes; I picked out a few of my must have items. There is everything from long maxi skirts and dresses to lace detailing to studded headbands. I've been very drawn to the color coral for summer and I'm loving it on the Rag & Bone maxi skirt. I also adore the turquoise earrings from Anthropologie, along with the rest of my picks! Hope everyone is having a great first couple of days of summer!

Dresses

One of my favorite things about the summer is being able to wear dresses. The only thing is, I some how manage to always slip on a pair of shorts and leave my poor dresses hanging in my closet. This summer however, I am promising myself that I will wear lots and lots of dresses! Here are some that I am crazy about.
